With important executive relationships being distributed across boundaries, the need for better collaboration and integration, has become one of the most important concerns for business leaders and their followers alike. Innovative business technology has pervaded all standard areas of operations including brainstorming sessions for novel concepts and ideas, making presentations or managing critical situations.

As a hub for hard core professionals and experienced executives such as COO John Ferraro E&Y, has always upheld the importance of smart business technology inputs. These are projected as powerful tools having the potential for creating new business models, disrupting industries and fueling the growth of newer competition.

The perceived value of different kinds of business technology in relation to better communication and synchronization can be impacted by the usage of different kinds of business communication such as instant messaging, video conferencing, and emails along with in-person interaction.

One of the most important avenues which demand the inputs of business technology is the processing of payments which has long been oligarchic. The requirement of terminal providers, merchant accounts and applications to accept online payments, has seen the emergence of start-ups and developers to take on the dominance of certain key providers in the field. Business technology and solutions provided by agents like Stripe, Fee Fighters and Square have gone a long way in helping online modes of payments and money transfer.

One of the other concerning areas for small and big business operators has always been the security connected with their sensitive and confidential data. Many analytic tools which help businesses manage information and data, have made start-ups such as InDinero and Profitably join the mainstream players in data understanding, accumulation and management.

Business technology has also allowed organizations to gain access to powerful and precise marketing technology. With the coming up of companies such as Hubspot, North social and Heyo, digital marketing has become the order of the day and small businesses are finding it easy to navigate through the complicated field of hi tech marketing details.

In spite of changing the face of the business world in the past 25 years, contributions made by the developers of business technology still have a long way to go. The need for more smartness and better connectivity is reflected in the consumer's desire for more powerful applications and devices. It remains to be seen how effective and speedy solutions to business technology, help in meeting these complex challenges and consumer expectations.

The top accounting software vendors are ranked by the IDC in a new report. The rankings are based on worldwide revenue generated, and the report found that for 2010 the top three accounting software providers were SAP, Oracle and Sage.

These big three accounted for 30% of the market total. The report also noted that worldwide revenues for accounting software vendors increased year on year in 2010 by almost 5%. This growth was attributed to pent up demand following the 2008 global recession. The top companies have focused on improving their transactional financial management offerings as well as their business intelligence applications. These two markets are growing at above average rates of around 9%, but the overall accounting software market growth was restrained by regulatory concerns related to SaaS model migration.
